Air Quality Services
HAZCLEAN
provides a comprehensive support program for clients interested in new construction and/or expansion of existing facilities that will produce air emissions as regulated by the Clean Air Act (CAA). The
HAZCLEAN
professional engineering staff is experienced in conducting air emissions permitting in the Southeastern United States as well as selected states throughout the nation. Our services include conducting an emissions inventory, determining the permitting status of the facility, projecting the permitting requirements for the facility, completing the appropriate permit documentation and assisting the client with the regulatory agency for the ultimate receipt of the permit. Additionally,
HAZCLEAN
will assist the client with the associated annual and semi-annual reporting requirements as established by the operating permit for the facility.
HAZCLEAN
is experienced in preparing and assisting the client with Title V Permits, general permits and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) Permits.
HAZCLEAN
also provides a Strategic and Tactical Environmental Planning (STEP) program to assist clients with short term and long term planning for expansion purposes. This program offers the client the opportunity to identify roadblocks and/or time delays as it relates to securing construction and operating permits.

will assist the client with development of short and long term permit procurement to facilitate any expansion plan.
Industrial Hygiene And Occupational Exposure Monitoring
HAZCLEAN
provides an Industrial Hygiene program to assist the client with Occupational Exposure Monitoring for workplace chemicals, noise levels, heating and lighting, and work-related safety exposures. Our team of Industrial Hygienists can conduct personal and area exposure monitoring for any selected parameter, using the most effective instrumentation for sample collection and analyses.
HAZCLEAN
provides real-time monitoring for selected parameters depending upon the exposure situation.
Our Indoor Air Quality Monitoring and Analytical program evaluates the facility/building profile for chemical and biological pollutants.
HAZCLEAN
will develop a Corrective Action program that remediates and restores the facility to a healthy indoor environment.
Emergency Response/Special Operations for Chemical Spills and Releases
HAZCLEAN
provides comprehensive emergency response services for releases of chemicals due to transportation mishaps, catastrophic building and process equipment damages, and fire damage. This program provides continuous chemical/biological monitoring and data collection for exposures to the public due to massive chemical release episodes due to uncontrolled events. This program includes direct reading, instrumentation and on-site data analysis, continuous exposure analysis utilizing current OSHA AND NIOSH analytical techniques, on-site meteorological data collection, and post release technical support. All
HAZCLEAN
personnel are trained under OSHA Standard 29 CFR1910.120 and are Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (C.H.M.M.) and Level IV HAZMAT air monitoring specialists.
Facilities/Industrial Compliance/Operational Audits
HAZCLEAN
has developed a standard model for conducting Compliance Audits on a corporate-wide basis as well as for specific single location industrial sites. Our Compliance Audit program is basically an insurance policy to provide management with the operational security, knowing that the facility is in a compliance posture. Our Compliance Audit program will review the policies within the specific state as well as those for the United Stated Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The State and Federal self-policing guidelines under the Audit Policy program will be reviewed and the advantages and disadvantages determined for each client.
The
HAZCLEAN
Compliance Audit reviews the major environmental laws such as, but not limited to the following: Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodentcide Act (FIFRA), the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA 1990), the Solid Waste Disposal Act (SWDA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA). The
HAZCLEAN
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) program includes all personal and workplace safety and health elements as necessary to comply with the laws and regulations.
Industrial Wastewater
HAZCLEAN
provides a comprehensive Industrial Wastewater program that involves conducting a complete facility inventory for all water and wastewater sources. The Water and Wastewater Source Inventory involves a determination of water quality and quantity through a monitoring and analytical characterization program. Effluent characteristics are evaluated with respect to pretreatment or direct discharge permits and engineering recommendations are made concerning compliance or non-compliance issues. The
HAZCLEAN
Industrial Wastewater program involves laboratory-scale treatability studies and pilot-scale treatability studies for the determination and confirmation of the most cost-effective and cost-efficient wastewater treatment technology. Final design involves either a design and build service or recommendation and construction management of packaged treatment units. The
HAZCLEAN
program for Industrial Wastewater includes the regulatory permitting process to ensure compliance with the regulations.
Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)
HAZCLEAN
provides the annual inventory and reporting program for the client to comply with the reporting requirements.
HAZCLEAN
will conduct the Tier I, Tier II, and Form R Inventory and Reporting for the client.
Process Design/Modification
HAZCLEAN
has a Process Design/Modification program as necessary to provide Pollution Prevention/Waste Reduction by modifying existing processes to reduce effluent pollution. The program involves engineering as necessary to evaluate and modify existing processes.
Regulatory Compliance
HAZCLEAN
has a Client Relations program whereby our professional staff manages all permits for the client. The Permit Management program involves establishing a permit-reporting matrix with actions and action dates.

can manage the entire program or assist the client with the matrix set-up. This program is an essential part to follow-up of all permit requirements and ensures compliance with reporting requirements.
Hazardous Materials Management
HAZCLEAN
has developed the Hazardous Materials Management program to assist clients with the inventory of all hazardous materials and development of a Hazardous Materials usage program. Through the Hazardous Materials Inventory and Usage program,

is able to assist the client with tracking of all materials and to determine the on-site quantity and quality of the materials. This program is integrated into the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) program.
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Program
HAZCLEAN
has developed the RCRA Program to assist clients with the manage-ment of hazardous wastes generated at their facility.

’s RCRA Program involves the review and characterization of the client’s inventory of hazardous waste generated at the location.
HAZCLEAN
provides RCRA regulatory assistance ranging from compliance management with conditionally exempt small quantity generators of hazardous waste to permitting RCRA Part B facilities. Additionally,

manages the regulatory reporting program required under RCRA, to include the annual reporting of hazardous waste generation to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and the biennial reporting of hazardous waste generation to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
Remediation Services

Pollution Prevention Program

has developed a Pollution Prevention program to assist clients with preventing and/or reducing pollution through better environmental program management. The Pollution Prevention program involves an inventory and assessment of all processes and waste sources to determine the applicability of pollution prevention techniques.

subscribes to the EPA Pollution Prevention program and has a library resource of proven pollution prevention methods.
Industrial Ecology
HAZCLEAN
has developed an Industrial Hygiene program to investigate personal Industrial Ecology exposure. Industrial Ecology involves a review of the workplace environment and concerns itself with indoor air quality, sound, heat and light exposures, and overall personal workplace safety and health issues. The

Industrial Hygiene program involves a comprehensive inventory of all exposure elements and provides a Corrective Action program.

assists the client with the implementation of the Corrective Action program and develops an ongoing monitoring program for the client.
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan

provides the site investigation to evaluate the need for a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC). If the SPCC Plan is determined to be necessary, then

will provide the appropriate plan to comply with the regulations and to ensure that the client has a user-friendly and practical guide to managing an on-site spill. If the facility has an existing plan,
HAZCLEAN
can assist with the upgrade and to bring the plan current with todays standards.

will provide the appropriate engineering certification to all plans that meet the requirements of the EPA and Standards of Good Engineering Practice.
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans
HAZCLEAN
provides engineering services as necessary to ensure compliance with the Stormwater Pollution regulations and to establish Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP). The

SWPPP program involves a comprehensive inventory of all storage areas exposed to the elements with the ultimate potential for stormwater runoff.

will assist the client with materials management to reduce the exposure to the elements prior to the development of a SWPPP. The stormwater plan will also include recommendations for site drainage and contouring to ensure point source discharges from the property for easy access for monitoring.

Waste Minimization Plans

provides annual support to our clients to review all hazardous waste materials and to determine the appropriate waste minimization elements as necessary for the annual report.
